Over the years I’ve had many requests from parents and sunday school teachers for me to recommend books for various ages and situations. I’ve kept some of the replies and am planning on posting some of them here.
Here’s is one of the first… “I have two boys – one aged six and one aged thirteen. What books do you recommend?”
Reply: O.K. I’m going to assume that they like books. That makes it kind of easier. For the six year old I’d suggest God hears me. http://www.christianfocus.com/item/show/303/-/sr_1
or our sticker book on Joseph http://www.christianfocus.com/item/show/454/-/sr_2
And I strongly recommend that children of this age start reading about Jesus Christ so look out one of the Bible Alive books.
Your thirteen year old will definitely enjoy the Cliff Rennie books – Goal behind the Curtain; Offside in Ecuatina… if he’s into football like most boys that age. http://www.christianfocus.com/contributor/show/164/-/sr_c_1
I would also recommend the series Building on the Rock- a set of five books with short stories and devotional prayers and bible readings included.
